Hello! My name is Alison Roth-Kerner (she/her). I am a co-founder of Grove Emotional Health Collaborative and a therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience. I work with clients as individuals and/or as families. I welcome clients of all races, ethnicities, physical abilities, countries of origin, religions, gender expressions, and sexual orientations. I work with children (5+), adolescents, and adults.
My practice prioritizes interpersonal connection and creating a space where each person can be as they are. I aim to support clients in exploring and managing opportunities for growth and change at a safe pace. I pride myself on bringing warmth, compassion, and patience into each session.
I commonly work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, identity questions, or relationship challenges. My work is informed by current research in evidence-based practice. I am formally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Family Focused Therapy (FFT).
I grew up in Massachusetts and have lived in Ann Arbor since 2009. I completed my undergraduate degree at Connecticut College, my Masters in Social Work (MSW) with a certificate in Behavioral Medicine at Boston University, and my postgraduate fellowship at Michigan Medicine. I love spending time by the ocean with my family and change-of-career labrador..
